Driver injured in two-vehicle accident

A driver was taken to the hospital after being ejected from his vehicle during a two-vehicle injury accident in Delaware Township on Saturday. According to the Hancock County Sheriff's Office, Scott Stauffer, 53, was transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital with suspected minor injuries following the 12:44 p.m. accident near Township roads 185 and 149. After investigation, deputies determined Richard Sadowski, 66, was driving south on Township Road 185 and failed to yield at a stop sign while attempting to turn left onto Township Road 149. Sadowski struck Stauffer, who was driving east on Township Road 149. Stauffer's vehicle overturned and came to a rest in a field, while Stauffer was ejected from the vehicle, according to the sheriff's office. Deputies determined Stauffer was not wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident, the sheriff's office said. Assisting at the scene were the Delaware Township Fire Department, Hanco EMS, Appleseed EMS, Ed's Towing and D&D Towing.
