'Anything's open' at Hillcrest addition

Hillcrest Golf Club, just northwest of Findlay, is adding a $2 million, 25,000-square-foot building for euchre tournaments, business conferences, weddings, art and car shows. "Anything's open" to happening at the multipurpose building, scheduled to be completed by June 2022, said Andy Clouse, owner of Hillcrest Golf Club. "We can probably have 500 to 600 people under roof in air conditioning. I don't know of another public golf course anywhere — I don't know of any in the United States — that would be able to hold that many people," he said. "I mean, they could do it with tents and things like that, but to have a building that big. I'm sure there's some private courses out there that can. But I don't know of any public courses. So this will be definitely unique to Findlay." Clouse is planning to host euchre, cornhole, volleyball and other tournaments, art shows, business seminars, wedding receptions and even car shows. "We'll have large doors that we can bring large equipment in," Clouse said. The building also will have a separate section in which Clouse can store equipment and products used at Hillcrest and his other golf courses. He also owns Fostoria Country Club and Loudon Meadows Golf Club, both in Fostoria; Birch Run Golf Club, in North Baltimore; and a course in Sebring, Florida. Clouse bought Hillcrest Golf Club in 2017. Wilin: 419-427-8413
