Findlay's Allsop named All Ohio by OSSCA

Findlay High's Andrew Allsop added another major honor to his 2021 resume by being named first-team Division I all-Ohio by the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association. Allsop scored 30 goals this season in leading the Trojans to a 5-2 record in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference and 10-4-5 overall slate. The senior forward was TRAC Player of the Year this season and a second-team all-Ohio choice in 2020. Six other area soccer players received all-Ohio recognition by the OSSCA. Bluffton's Jude Spallinger, who led the Pirates to a 14-4-1 record, was first-team all-state in Division III, while Van Buren's Jordan Fredrick (25 goals, 17 assists) in Division III and Ottawa-Glandorf's Jeramy Hermiller in Division II were second-team selections. In the Division III girls all-Ohio selections, Liberty-Benton's Brooke Deeter (21 goals, 9 assists), Ottawa-Glandorf's Myka Aldrich (23 goals, 7 assists), and Bluffton's Reagan Mittendorf (14 goals, 11 assists) were all second-team picks. (14-sub head) UF's Meyer named University of Findlay junior Emma Meyer has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference North Division Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts in UF volleyball wins over Ursuline and Lake Erie. Meyer not only had 22 kills in the two matches, but also had eight blocks.
