50% of Hancock County residents started on vaccine

More than half of Hancock County residents have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, according to information updated by the Ohio Department of Health on Wednesday. A total of 37,974 residents, or 50.11% of the county population, have received at least one dose of vaccine. And 35,153 county residents, or 46.39%, have completed the vaccination series. Those who have completed the vaccine include 2,660 people ages 80 and older; 1,872 people 75 to 79; 2,739 people 70 to 74; 3,254 people 65 to 69; 3,486 people 60 to 64; 5,904 people 50 to 59; 4,565 people 40 to 49; 4,182 people 30 to 39; 3,893 people 20 to 29; and 2,598 people 19 and younger. A total of 8,993 Hancock County residents have received additional doses of vaccine. Statewide, 6,715,557 Ohioans have received at least one dose of vaccine. That is 57.45% of the state's population. And 6,142,891 Ohioans, or 52.55% of the state's population, have completed the vaccination series. When only Ohioans 18 and older are considered, 6,199,209 Ohio adults, or 68.04% of the state's adult population, have received at least one dose of vaccine. And 5,784,339 Ohio adults, or 63.49% of the state's adult population, have completed the vaccination series. Figures for neighboring counties include: • Allen County: 43,645 people (42.64%) started on vaccine; 40,352 people (39.43%) completed vaccine. • Hardin County: 11,930 people (38.04%) started on vaccine; 11,019 people (35.13%) completed vaccine. • Henry County: 14,173 people (52.48%) started on vaccine; 13,298 people (49.24%) completed vaccine. • Putnam County: 16,024 people (47.32%) started on vaccine; 15,147 people (44.73%) completed vaccine. • Seneca County: 26,110 people (47.32%) started on vaccine; 24,461 people (44.33%) completed vaccine. • Wood County: 78,492 people (60%) started on vaccine; 72,607 people (55.5%) completed vaccine. • Wyandot County: 10,185 people (46.78%) started on vaccine; 9,565 people (43.93%) completed vaccine.
