Fostoria boys use second-half surge to claim season, conference opener

FOSTORIA 65 GENOA 52 FOSTORIA – Fostoria received 19 points and 14 rebounds from Lakai Robinson, another 19 points from Machi Johnson, and surged in the second half to win its season opener over Genoa, 65-52. Johnson added five steals and seven assists in the victory, which also was each team's opening game in the Northern Buckeye Conference. The game was tied at 25 at the half, but the Redmen took over after that, outscoring the Comets 23-15 in the third quarter and 17-12 in the fourth. Jordan Ferguson added 12 points for Fostoria.
