Wilt, Stocker lead the way for FHS swimming

FREMONT – Selby Wilt and Parker Stocker had a hand in four first-place finishes each in leading Findlay High's boys swim team to a narrow margin over Fremont Ross and dominating wins over Toledo Whitmer and Clyde in a four-team meet held in Fremont on Tuesday. Wilt won the 50- (21.85) and 100-yard (50.02) freestyle events. Stocker touched first in the 100 butterfly (53.97) and 100 backstroke (55.28), and joined Wilt, Xavier Doering and Ben Williams on the winning 200 (1:33.46) and 400 (3:27.81) freestyle relays. Williams also won the 200 free (1:50.09) and Zach Doepker's score of 195.15 was tops in diving in helping the Trojans top Fremont Ross 93-91, Toledo Whitmer 132-29 and Clyde 135-15. Findlay's girls team beat Whitmer 129-24, but fell to Fremont Ross 97-81. Delaney Spradlin was a triple winner for the Trojans, finishing first in the 100 fly (1:07.63) and 100 backstroke (1:05.41) and teaming with Claire Kemmere, Jillian Nicholson and Ava Weissling on the top 400 free relay (4:05.21). Kemmere also won the 200 free (2:03.73) and Kelsie Ritzler was first in diving (180.05). WRESTLING Carey pins pair HAMLER — Carey heavyweight Brock Bushong pinned both of his opponents on Tuesday in leading the Blue Devils to wrestling wins over McComb (48-15) and Patrick Henry (51-12). Lane Barger (157), Isaac Carman (215) and Gage Summitt (715) also had pins for Carey. McComb's Tanner Bryan (165) and Owen Deweese (190) won by pin in the Panthers match with Carey.
