BC claims share of N10, tops Rams

UPPER SANDUSKY — Buckeye Central dominated early, shot well and let the defense feed the offense Friday in a 67-27 rout of Upper Sandusky. The victory moved the 16-1 Buckettes to 12-0 in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference, giving them at least a piece of the conference title with two conference games to go. Buckeye Central wasted little time, grabbing a 17-0 lead by the end of the first period and a 38-13 halftime advantage. The Buckettes finished 26 of 49 overall from the floor and hit 10 of the 20 3-point attempts. The 23 turnovers they forced led to 25 points. Emily Siesel keyed the attack with 22 points, seven steals and five assists. Claudia Pifher backed her 21 points and four assists and Kate Siesel tossed in eight points. Velourea Stowers scored six points for the Rams (10-9, 6-6) and Kaidance Iles had four rebounds and three assists. LAKOTA 38 H. LOUDON 27 BASCOM — Both teams struggled shooting, but Lakota benefited from a big advantage behind the 3-point line Friday to beat Hopewell-Loudon 38-27 in Sandusky Bay Conference River Division play. The Raiders made just 13 of their 42 field goal attempts, but went 7 of 22 on 3-pointers compared to H-L's 2-of-13 effort behind the arc. Carlie Foos hit five of those 3-pointers for Lakota on the way to topping all scorers with 19 points. Cassidy Foos added seven points for the Raiders, and Aubrey Vitte tallied six points, 10 rebounds, four assists and three steals. Allie Milligan's nine points paced the Chieftains, who finished 10 of 37 overall from the field. Isabelle Beidelschies added four points for H-L. NEW RIEGEL 69 GIBSONBURG 51 GIBSONBURG – Aubrey Bouillon put up a game-high 22 points, and state-ranked New Riegel in a Sandusky Bay Conference River Division game, 69-51. Sydney Hohman had a double-double for the Blue Jackets, with 14 points and 10 boards. CAREY 58 BUCYRUS 46 BUCYRUS –Ady Stewart had eight points for Carey, and four Blue Devils added seven points each in a 58-46 win in Bucyrus.
