BVHS gives $50K toward STRICT Center

Blanchard Valley Health System has donated $50,000 toward the construction of Findlay's $1 million Simulated Tactical Response & Incident Command Training (STRICT) Center. Construction of the center is expected to get underway this year. "BVHS is proud to be part of this special project," said Myron Lewis, president and CEO of BVHS. "As the community's provider of healthcare services, we want to support efforts that keep our family, friends and neighbors safe. Great things happen when we work together." The public safety training complex will be accessible to all fire departments, law enforcement agencies and emergency medical services companies within Hancock County. Conceptual plans show the STRICT Center will be built behind Findlay Fire Station 4, on County Road 236. The facility will feature a burn building, which allows for live-fire training for area firefighters; along with a nonburn tactical building, which will facilitate year-round training for fire, law enforcement and EMS personnel. A total of $784,500 has been donated toward construction of the center from public, private and nonprofit sources.
