Jacob LeRoy Cogley

Jacob LeRoy Cogley, 89, of Findlay, passed away on March 10, 2022 at Birchaven Village in Findlay. He was born on Aug. 8, 1932, in Rawson, to the late George and Ervena (Timmons) Cogley. On Sept. 6, 1958, he married the love of his life, Doris Zeisloft, and they shared 63 wonderful years. She survives in Findlay. Jake was a 1950 graduate of Rawson High School, and he went on to proudly serve his country in the Korean War, with the U.S. Army. Jake retired, as a supervisor, from the Ohio Bell Telephone Company in 1991, with over 35 years of service. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, American Legion Post 3, Korean War Veterans Association and a 60 plus year member of the Mt. Cory Masonic Lodge #418, where he was a past Master. Jake was also a member of Journey at Christ Church. He volunteered at McComb Elementary School for 9 years and Hope House for 12 years. Jake enjoyed being the family historian and studying the genealogy of his family. This year is the 100th Cogley reunion and it would have been his 90th birthday. Jake was very proud of his family and his country. Jake is survived by his children, Nan (Craig) Kuhlman of Pasadena, California, Tim (Lauree) Cogley of Columbus, Matt (Beth) Cogley of Findlay; grandchildren Chloe, Quentin (Natalie) and Morgan Kuhlman and Alex Cogley. He is survived by two sisters, Martha (the late Don) Unruh and Susie (Tom) Morrison. He was preceded in death by his siblings Betty Shafer, Daniel Cogley, Leah Mehaffey, David Cogley, Helen and Gemima Cogley. Memorial contributions may be made in Jake's memory to the Flag City Honor Flight. Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sugar Ridge Cemetery in Leipsic where full military rites will be conducted by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad. Online condolences may be made at coldrencrates.com
