Care items collected for Ukraine

Area entities are collecting items for personal hygiene and first aid kits to be sent to Ukraine. Local businesses have set up drop-off boxes to accept donations. The items collected from these drop-off sites will be shipped through DT Gruelle, a Pennsylvania company, to Ukraine. The shipment is organized through the nonprofit DTCare, a sister company of DT Gruelle. Local drop-off sites currently include, but may not be limited to: • The Buffalo Trading Co., 2220 Bright Road. • Findlay Auto Plus, 10270 US 224 W. • AAA Findlay Automobile Club, 1550 Tiffin Ave. • Summer Creek Apparel, 214 S. Main St. • Black Heritage Library & Multicultural Center, 817 Harmon St. (Donations accepted through Saturday.) • Dougie John's Pizza, 106 S. Main St. (Donations accepted through Saturday.) • Vivir Modern Mexican, 119 E. Crawford St. (Donations accepted through Saturday.) Businesses looking to become drop-off locations can contact DTCare at DTCare.org/donate DTCare is shipping two kinds of kits: personal hygiene and individual first aid. Items to include in the personal hygiene kits include: 1-gallon Ziploc bags; adhesive bandages (5-10); to-go disinfecting wipes; cotton washcloth; toothbrush (with a cap); travel-size toothpaste and floss; cotton swabs; travel-size bar soap; travel deodorant stick; individually packaged alcohol prep pads; sanitary pads (no tampons or cups); travel-size mouthwash; disposable nail files; flushable wipes; hair ties; face masks; thermal winter socks; antibiotic ointment; Chapstick; travel-size lotion; nasopharyngeal airway devices; and decompression needles (14- or 10-gauge by 3.25 inches). Items for the individual first aid kits must include the following items, exactly as listed: quick-clot rolled gauze, 3 by 48 inches; bandage compress, 4 inches; latex-free elastic bandage with fasteners, 3 inches by 5 yards; conforming gauze roll bandage, 2 inches by 4.1 yards; chest seal, 6 by 6 inches; tourniquet, one-handed application style; burn dressing, 4 inches by 4 inches; nitrile powder-free gloves, size large; medical adhesive tape, ½-inch by 2½ yards.
