NAMI prepares for annual walk

National Alliance on Mental Illness Northwest (serving Seneca, Ottawa, Sandusky and Wyandot counties) will hold its 17th annual John van der Laar Walk on April 30. The annual walk is determined to show support for mental health, and all funds raised go directly toward serving those affected by mental health disorders in these communities. All NAMI services are free. The walk will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at Conner Park, 2300 Morrison Road, Fremont. The event is free and open to everyone, including animals. There are several ways to participate. Participants may drive through on walk day, or can participate in a one-lap mental health quiz walk around Conner Park. Participants may also walk on their own and send a photo to NAMI. On the day of the walk, Eagle 99.1 will be broadcasting "all about the world of NAMI" from 9 a.m. to noon, according to a press release.
