Richard Allan McCleary

Richard Allan McCleary, 73, of Findlay, died at 11:56 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. He was born Feb. 14, 1949, in Bellevue, to Allan and Catherine (Hiskey) McCleary, who preceded him in death. He married Jane A. Held on Feb. 1, 1969, and she survives. Richard is also survived by a daughter, Beckie (Bart) Rader of Findlay; and two grandsons, Brayton Rader and Blaine Rader. He earned his bachelor's degree in business from The University of Findlay in 1971 and retired as sales manager at Acme Beverage. He was a member of Elks and Amvets and enjoyed all sports, but in particular, was a fan of Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, and Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed entertaining guests, being out in the sunshine, going to Lake Erie and Put-in-Bay, and making sure that every dog that walked by his house was given a biscuit. NASCAR was another sport that he dearly loved. Richard's funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2022, at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay, with Pastor Bill Cook officiating. Interment will follow at Knollcrest Cemetery, Arcadia. Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2022, at the funeral home.
