Voting against Republicanism, Trumpism As a liberal Democrat devoted to social science, I'm voting against Republicanism and Trumpism. A vote for a Republican is a vote against democracy. According to Reuters, The Courier and other sources, Donald Trump continues to make false claims. Trump blames widespread voting fraud for his loss to Democrat Biden. Trump's confused and fascistic supporters are threatening democracy by continuing to believe his false claim. Hancock County, the City of Findlay and the State of Ohio lack responsible leadership. The City of Findlay cannot offer a Strategic Plan without messing things up. Look at the drop in Ohio's rankings in medical care, education and the economy and the infant mortality rate since Republicans came into power in 2011. We see the damage done by Republican leadership. Findlay's poverty rate is an embarrassing 12.5%. Ohio's' poverty rate stands at No. 39, and education stands at No. 32 in an overall rating of states. Ohio is No. 44 in the natural environment. It is a pity two out of three Hancock Country commissioners are living in the Dark Ages, banning solar and wind power as fossil fuels continue polluting the environment. Investing in science, technology as well as innovation, we can reduce emissions, address climate change and will offer us affordable energy. Ohio, Hancock County and Findlay are spurring science, technology and innovation. Oklahoma is an example of the power of advanced science and technology. It improves lives, creates jobs and strengthens the economy. It is a shame all of Hancock Counties elected officials are Republicans who only want to stay in power. They are satisfying the few rather than promoting scientific advances, innovating and affordable energy, as well as, better jobs and a cleaner environment. Don Iliff Findlay
