FHS tennis completes perfect run through TRAC

TOLEDO – Findlay High's boys tennis team lost just two games in five matches in routing Toledo Whitmer 5-0 on Tuesday and completing phase one of its quest to capture the 2022 Three Rivers Athletic Conference championship. With Tuesday's win, Findlay completed a perfect 7-0 run in head-to-head regular-season TRAC matches. The points earned from those wins will give the Trojans a slight edge on the field when the TRAC tournament is held May 5-6 at the Shadow Valley Tennis Club in Maumee. All three singles matches against Toledo Whitmer were 6-0, 6-0 shutouts. Mac Robertson ran his record at No. 3 singles to 16-0 by beating Jeremiah Blackmon, Max Hosey is 15-1 at No. 1 singles with his decision over Quinn Peters, and Austin Asada (No. 2) upped his record to 14-2 by blanking Naydin Frazier. At No. 2 doubles, sophomore Aaron Miller (6-1) and freshman Sam Swisher (13-2) posted another 6-0, 6-0 victory over Brody Booker and Adam Mahmoud. Haden Harris (13-1) and Arda Dastan (8-4) teamed up at No. 1 doubles for a 6-1, 6-1 win over Evan Johnson and Luke Jurrus. A state semifinalist last year in the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association team tournament, Findlay hosts Tiffin Columbian today in the first round of the 2022 OTCA competition, then will host Perrysburg on Thursday in a match postponed on Monday due to bad weather. (14-sub head) FHS falls 11-10 Findlay High's girls' lacrosse team took Toledo Notre Dame to the wire on Tuesday, but a late rally fell just short in an 11-10 loss to the Eagles.
