Findlay library hosts supply swap, wishtree celebration

A craft supply swap, a program on insurance and a wishtree celebration will be some of the activities offered by the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library starting today. Bryan Courtney from Shelter Insurance will explain the basics of home, auto and other common coverages during a Zoom program at 5:30 p.m. today. Registration for the program can be accessed at findlaylibrary.org An At-Home Makerspace program featuring experiments focusing on rain science will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday via Facebook. Prior to the presentation, participants should gather a clear, wide-mouthed jar, sponge, water, food coloring, spoon and an eyedropper or straw to drip water for the projects. Baby Storytime at the Library will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday and Friday in the Lindamood Room. Miss Nicole will lead families in singing, rhyming, reading and having fun with scarves and bells. The CrafterWork craft supply swap will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in the Lindamood Room. Items that have been donated in the past week will be set out for attendees to look through and select a few new supplies. Attendees need not have donated to come and participate. Bring a bag to take home new items. A wishtree celebration will be held at 2 p.m. Friday outside the library. Wishtrees are special trees where people can write a wish on a piece of paper and hang it from a tree. Participants will learn more about wishtrees and their power to bring communities together with a reader's theater performance from "Wishtree," by Katherine Applegate. Participants can then put their wish on the tree. The program is being held in partnership with the Black Heritage Library and Multicultural Center.
