Rex Huston

Rex Huston, 98, of Findlay and formerly of Carey, died at 2:20 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Birchaven Village, Finday. He was born Jan. 12, 1924, in Carey, to Vernon H. and Mary B. (Cole) Huston. He married Marilyn J. Shane on Sept 11, 1949, and she preceded him in death Aug. 4, 2016. Rex is survived by two brothers, Dr. V.H. Huston of Findlay and Juson A. Huston of Tyler, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Candace Huston; and two brothers, Dr. T.R. Huston and Clarence L. Huston, who died at Battle at the Bulge. Rex graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1948, studying business administration. He was in the Delta Ian Delta fraternity. Rex was in Army Air Cops, 380th B. Sqdn, 310th B. GP, flew 77 missions, and received an air medal with six oak leaf clusters. Rex was formerly President of Carey Jaycees. He was a member of American Legion and a charter member of VFW. Rex was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Carey, for over 65 years. Private graveside services for family will be Monday, May 23, 2022, at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey, with the Rev. Jim Sharrett and the Rev. Loran Miracle officiating. Military honors will be performed by Carey American Legion Post #344. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Beach Funeral Home, Carey. Memorials are suggested to Cyctic Fibrosis Fd. or Grace United Methodist Church, Carey.
