Two hurt in multi-vehicle crash

Two people were injured in a three-vehicle accident at County Road 99 near the Interstate 75 northbound exit/entrance ramp on Wednesday morning. According to the Findlay Police Department, both Danny Baird, 76, of McComb, and Conseulo Pardo, 49, of Leipsic, were taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital by Hanco EMS following the 9:44 a.m. accident. According to police, Baird, driving a Chevy Silverado, was eastbound in the curb lane of County Road 99 near the I-75 ramp when he was struck from behind by an eastbound Kenworth T-800 semitruck driven by Willie Courington, 42, of Toledo. The impact pushed Baird's truck forward into the center lane where it struck the rear of a Nissan Altima driven by Pardo, who was stopped in the center lane of County Road 99. Baird was transported to the hospital for possible neck injuries, while Pardo had possible neck and side injuries. Police said Courington was cited for assured clear distance ahead. Both the pickup truck and the car were heavily damaged and towed from the scene. Also assisting at the scene were members of the Findlay Fire Department and Ohio Highway State Patrol.
