Voter registration deadline nears

The voter registration deadline for the Aug. 2 primary election is July 5. The Hancock County Board of Elections office, 201 E. Lincoln St. (rear entrance), will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. July 5 to assist with voter registration. Other locations where residents can register to vote include: • Findlay-Hancock County Public Library, 206 Broadway St. • Findlay License Agency — BMV, 8210 County Road 140, Suite A. • Fostoria License Agency — BMV, 304 N. Main St., Suite 1, Fostoria. • Hancock County treasurer's and auditor's offices (Hancock County Courthouse), 300 S. Main St. • McComb Public Library, 113 Todd St., McComb. • Kaubisch Public Library, 205 Perry St., Fostoria. • Fostoria auditor's office, 213 S. Main St., Fostoria. • Hancock County WIC (The Family Center), 1800 N. Blanchard St. • Hancock County Job & Family Services, 7814 County Road 140. Voters can visit www.hancockcountyohioelections.gov to see if they are registered at their present address. Individuals can change their address online or at the board office through 9 p.m. July 5. Early, in-person absentee voting for the Aug. 2 primary election will begin at the board office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 6. The office will then be open the following hours for in-person absentee voting: • 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 6-22 (weekdays only). • 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 25-29. • 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 30. • 1-5 p.m. July 31. • 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 1. The board will begin absentee voting on July 6 at the office. Absentee applications are available online at www.hancockcountyohioelections.gov or at the drop box located near the board office entrance.
