Library offers book talks, story sessions

Book discussions and a program helping parents prepare their children for a successful school year are some of the programs being offered by the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library starting today. Patrons who registered for August's Spice World program may begin picking up the Roasted Chicken Banh Mi kits at 9 a.m. today. These will be available though Aug. 20 in the area where holds for library materials are kept. The Monday Afternoon Book Discussion group will meet via Zoom at 1 p.m. today. Participants will talk about "The Nesting Dolls" by Alina Adams. Register for the link at findlaylibrary.org. A program on dementia will be held at 6 p.m. today in the Lindamood Room. Those attending will learn about the disease, how it affects individuals and how to make a difference in the lives of people living with the condition. Baby Storytime at the Library will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday and Friday in the Lindamood Room. Miss Nicole will lead families in singing, rhyming, reading and having fun with scarves and bells. The 50 North Book Discussion group will explore "Three Words Goodbye" by Hazel Gaynor and Heather Webb. The discussion will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the senior center, 339 E. Melrose Ave. Kyle Wagner, professor of education at the University of Findlay, will help parents prepare their children for future success in the classroom at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Lindamood Room.
