Trojan girls golf sixth at Dublin

DUBLIN – Findlay's Payson Dotson and Noah Mils turned in top 20 placings and the Trojans were sixth in the team standings in the Dublin Invitational held sat the Golf Club of Dublin on Tuesday. Dotson fired a 75 and was tenth in the medalist and Miles' 77 placed him 17th. Nick Feighner's 80 and an 89 from Ryan Clarke completed Findlay's 321 total. Sixteen-time state champion Upper Arlington won the event with a score of 295. Olentangy Liberty (300) edged Columbus St. Charles (301) for second. In a season that has already produced some outstanding individual and team scores in the prep ranks, Upper Arlington sophomore Brady Catalano turned in another, carding an 8-under 64 on the Dublin course to earn medalist honors. (14-sub head) Trojans blank Celina CELINA – Katy Rubiolo's first-set overtime victory at No. 2 singles capped a sweep by Findlay High's girls tennis team in Tuesday's 5-0 win over Celina. Rubiolo won an 8-6 first-set tie-breaker in posting a 7-6 (8-6), 6-2 decision over Celina's Lauren Muhlenkamp. In the other singles matches, Ava Roach (No. 1) beat Michelle Elston 6-0, 6-2, and Tabitha Cap (No. 3) scored a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Kayliann Howell. Findlay flip-flopped its scores in sweeping the doubles matches. At No. 1 doubles, Mia Kennard and Lily Korecky beat Elise Muether and Isabelle Thobe 6-0, 6-1, while the No. 2 doubles team of Jocelyn Barberree and Maggie Kenny reversed that score in a 6-1, 6-0 win over Kaleah Dailey and Katie Guingrich. (14-sub head) H-L wins meet WILLARD – Jenna Brown carded a 42 and Marissa Cline a 43 on Tuesday in leading Hopewell-Loudon to the title in a Sandusky Bay Conference girls golf shootout at the Willard Golf Club.
