Jackson scores twice as Elida blanks Findlay

GIRLS SOCCER ELIDA 2 FINDLAY 0 ELIDA – Elida's Analei Jackson scored two goals – the first on a penalty kick just 6:20 into the match – in leading the Bulldogs to a 2-0 girls soccer win over Findlay on Saturday. Jackson connected for her second goal midway through the second half s Elida improved to 3-1-1 on the season. Findlay, which hosts Toledo Whitmer on Wednesday in a Three Rivers Athletic Conference match at Elmer Graham Stadium, fell to 1-3-1. OTTAWA-GLANDORF 4 LIBERTY-BENTON 0 Madelyn Hovest scored two goals on Saturday in leading Ottawa-Glandorf to a 4-0 win over Liberty-Benton in a matchup of two girls soccer teams who both reached the Division III regionals semifinals last season. Mackenzie Recker and Clara Beach also had goals for O-G. Ashlyn Siefker had an assist and keeper Emma Brinkman made four saves to get the shutout that improved the Titans record top 3-1-1. Natalie Parmelee made eight saves for Liberty-Benton (2-2-1). KENTON 2 RIVERDALE 0 KENTON -- Gabi Wetherill and Kinze Sprang each connected on goals for Kenton, and the Wildcats shut out Riverdale, 2-0. Kenton outshot the Falcons 13-11, and led 8-3 in shots on goal. The Wildcats (6-1) received three saves in goal from Ruby Steyer. The Falcons (1-3-1) got six saves from goalkeeper Angeliina Sierra. BLUFFTON 6 COLDWATER 0 BLUFFTON -- Sami Scoles scored three times, accounting for half of the Pirates offense as it shutout Coldwater, 6-0. Allison Diller and Ella Armstrong and Riley Eachus also scored for the Pirates, while Armstrong had two assists and Diller and Karson Hausenstein each had one. Bluffton outshot the Cavaliers 24-2, and 17-2 in shots on goal. Bluffton goalkeeper Julia Mehaffier made two saves for the Pirates. RIVER VALLEY 1 U. SANDUSKY 1 UPPER SANDUSKY -- Hannah Windau broke a stalemate by converting a pass from Erin Merriman with 26 minutes remaining in regulation, giving Upper Sandusky a 1-0 lead over it River Valley. It took more than 20 minutes, but the Raiders answered. With five minutes left, River Valley's Allie Snyder scored, and the Rams settled for a 1=1 tie. Upper Sandusky outshot River Valley 16-11, and led 11-4 on shots on goal. USHS' Ellee Ham made three saves in goal. River Valley's Kaya Brown had nine saves. BOYS SOCCER WOOSTER 2 FINDLAY 1 WOOSTER – Findlay dented Wooster's staunch defense for a goal on Saturday, only the third the Generals have allows in five matches this season. That one goal wasn't enough, though as the Trojans fell 2-1 in a nonleague boys soccer contest. Wooster improved to 4-1-0 with the win. Findlay dropped to 1-4-1 heading into Tuesday's Three Rivers Athletic Conference game at Toledo Whitmer. RIVER VALLEY 5 UPPER SANDUSKY 2 UPPR SANDUSKY – River Valley's Gabe Douce scored one goal and assisted on two others in leading the Vikings to a 5-2 boys soccer win over Upper Sandusky. Holden Daris and Conner Beidelschies had the goals for Upper Sandusky. Landon Lamb (6) and Harris Hill (3) combined for nine saves for the Rams (1-4-0), who were outshot 14-6. O-GLANDORF 4 BRYAN 0 GLANDORF – Ottawa-Glandorf used offensive balance and solid defense in posting a 4-0 boys soccer win over Bryan. Tyler Hohenbrink, Isaac Macke, Jayden Kuhlman and Jayden Oliver all had a goal for O-G (2-2-1). Gavin Morman had an assist for the Titans, who outshot Brian (3-2-0) 15-3 and got shutout goal tending from Dave Westrick (3 saves).
