College First A new sermon series focusing on making the best choices possible for Christian living will be introduced Sunday at College First Church of God. The Rev. Brandon Kelly will speak at each service using Matthew 6:25-33 with the sermon title, "I Choose Purpose." The church will resume its regular worship schedule Sunday. Traditional/blended worship is at 9 and 11 a.m. in the main sanctuary (1100 N. Main St.), and a contemporary service is at 10 a.m. in Winebrenner Auditorium (950 N. Main St.). Enon Valley Enon Valley Presbyterian Church, 20307 U.S. 224, will kick off its fall schedule by holding its annual Rally Day service on Sunday. The special service will include a performance by New Presence Gospel Quartet. The group sings traditional hymns both a cappella and with music accompaniment. The worship service is at 9:30 a.m. Sunday school classes will resume on Sept. 25 following the regular worship service. Findlay First Church of the Nazarene Findlay First Church of the Nazarene will host its Twice Blessed Consignment Sale from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to noon Friday and Sept. 17. The church is located at 2501 Broad Ave. First Lutheran First Lutheran Church, 109 E. Lincoln St., will celebrate the Fourteenth Sunday after Pentecost with the Rev. Robert Cochran preaching from Luke 15:1-10. Worship services will return to 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. Special music will be provided by the senior choir. Youth Sunday school begins this week at 9:30 a.m. The youths are requesting nonperishable items be brought to the church on Sunday for their project stocking free food pantry boxes in Findlay. A noisy offering will be collected in the bucket at the back of the church, with money going to a special charity. Items can be placed on the cart by the elevator. First Presbyterian First Presbyterian Church, 2330 S. Main St., will gather in worship at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. The service will feature the Chancel Choir returning after its summer hiatus along with a brass quintet from Bowling Green State University. All are welcome to attend in person or via livestream at findlayfpc on Facebook. Godly Play is available for preschool and elementary children during worship. The Godly Play Choir for children in grades one through five will meet after the service. Adult Formation will also meet after worship in the fellowship hall, featuring a "State of the Church" update on the various ministries of the church. This session will kick off the theme for September and October: "Reformed and Always Reforming." Main St., Arlington, beginning at 8:45 a.m. Sunday. The event for all ages will start in the nave of the church and includes opening devotions and giving glory to God with songs and ending in prayer. Children will be dismissed to the fellowship hall to hear the Creation Story, work on crafts and participate in a scavenger hunt. Adults and high school ages will have their own activities with Bible challenges. Snacks will be served at 9:40 a.m. The 10 a.m. worship service will include the band, Living Water, leading the congregation in singing Gospel songs. Following worship around 11 a.m., the annual hog roast will be held. Meat, buns, table service and drinks will be provided. Members attending are asked to bring a side dish to share potluck style. Guests are welcome and need not provide a dish. A service will also be held at 5 p.m. today. Holy Communion will be offered at all three services on Saturday and Sunday. The LYO groups will meet on Sunday beginning at 4 p.m. for grades four through six, 7 p.m. for grades seven and eight, and 5:30 p.m. for grades nine through 12. Howard UM Howard United Methodist Church, 220 Cherry St., will host a spaghetti supper from 5-6:30 p.m. today. Tickets will be sold at the door. Proceeds will go to the children's ministry. Prayer March Findlay churches are invited to participate in a prayer march planned for noon Oct. 1 in Dorney Plaza. All local churches are urged to march from their respective sites to downtown Findlay, stopping to pray at landmarks along the way. Amy Miller will conclude the Acts sermon series on Sunday, focusing on chapter 17 on how the early disciples took the message of the Gospel to the rest of the world. The Jubilation Choir will sing at the 9 a.m. traditional service. Worship services are offered in person at the church, 120 W. Sandusky St., and online (saumcfindlay.org or Facebook page) at 9 and 11:15 a.m. The 9 a.m. service is also broadcast live on WFIN radio and WFIN.com St. Marks UM St. Marks United Methodist Church, 800 S. Main St., will offer two worship services Sunday — a traditional service at 9 a.m. and a contemporary service at 11:15 a.m. The congregation will be "Hearing the Voices of Women," and Holly Metzger will retell the story of Esther. Sunday School for ages 5 through fourth grade is offered for children during both worship services. The church will host classes for the entire family starting Wednesday from 6:30-8 p.m. Adults can join Pastor Dan Metzger in the sanctuary as he begins a 10-week course called "Intro to the Bible." This is a college-level course where students will learn more about the origins of the Bible, how the Bible has been read differently in different cultures, and ways to better understand the writing styles and methods of the biblical authors. The St. Marks Youth Group will have its first meeting of the school year in the den on the second floor. The group is open to anyone in middle school and high school who is interested in fun, friendships, mission trips serving the needy, and building the foundations of a relationship with God. "Spark Kids!" is open to children in kindergarten through fifth grade and will meet in the Dock for games that teach cooperation, Christian crafts and a Bible story. St. Paul Lutheran JENERA — The Rev. Deb Noll will present the message during both services Sunday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 9340 Township Road 32, Jenera. Traditional worship begins at 9 a.m., followed by small group studies for all ages at 10:15 a.m. A parent/youth meeting will also be held at 10:15 a.m. Contemporary worship opens with praise songs at 11:15 a.m. An informational meeting about confirmation will be held at 5 p.m. for youths and their parents, followed by the first class. The youth group, Re-FUEL, will meet from 6-8 p.m. Trinity Lutheran Trinity Bells will be the featured accompanists for the 9 a.m. service Sunday, the Fourteenth Sunday after Pentecost, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 935 W. Bigelow Ave. They will play "O Come, Let Us Worship and Bow Down" for the preservice and "Meditation" for the offering. Community will be celebrated and drive-thru communion will be offered at 10:15 a.m. The service will be streamed live on Facebook and YouTube.
