Findlay boys tie Perrysburg

PERRYSBURG -- Arda Dastan had a goal and an assist, and Adrian Stechschulte added a goal as Findlay played Perrysburg to a 2-2 tie. Owen Clevenger had 13 intercepts and four steals, while the Trojans' Chris Huff added four intercepts and seven steals. FHS' Wes Nelson stopped three of five shots in goal. JUNIOR VARSITY: Perrysburg 4-0. GIRLS SOCCER VAN BUREN 8 CORY-RAWSON 0 VAN BUREN -- Van Buren girls won its NCOSA opener against Cory-Rawson Thursday, 8-0. Senior Paige Bowman scored a school record five goals to lead the way for the Black Knights . Sydney Sherick recorded a shutout in goal. Belle Miller scored a goal and had three assists for the Black Knights, while Anna Durliat had a goal and an assist. Rae Coffee scored a goal for VB, while Zoe Fruth and Erica Coffee recorded two assists each. Van Buren outshot the Hornets, 13-1. OTTAWA GLANDORF 2 BLUFFTON 1 BLUFFTON -- Bluffton's Ella Armstrong scored in the second minute of the match, but Ottawa-Glandorf came back and scored two late goals, one by Myka Aldrich and the other by Bri Douglas. Sami Scoles recorded an assist for Bluffton. L-B 8 U. SANDUSKY 0 UPPER SANDUSKY -- Emma Hooper and Kylie Recker scored three times each, and Liberty-Benton shut out Upper Sandusky, 8-0. Eva Padron and Emily Tomlinson each scored for the Eagles, who outshot the Rams 14-6, and held a 10-3 advantage in shots on goal. Natalie Parmalee had three saves in goal for the Eagles; Ellee Ham had two saves for the Rams. BOYS SOCCER O-G 2 ELIDA 1 OTTAWA – Jackson Heringhaus and Isaac Mackey each scored for Ottawa-Glandorf, and pushed the Titans past visiting Elida, 2-1. Joel Martinez scored the Bulldogs only goal. O-G outshot Elida 10-7. The Titans' Dave Westrick made five saves in goal; his counterpart, Elida's Zach Suever, made four saves. The Bulldogs' Camden Howard made three saves in goal. L-B 7 U. SANDUSKY 2 Liberty-Benton led just 3-2 at the break, but four second-half goals -- two by Case Troyer -- helped the Eagles pull away from Upper Sandusky, 7-2. L-B (4-3) also got one goal each from Liam Fagan, Caleb Collert, Garrett Nealis, Aiden Patch and Bryce Fox. Fox and Ocean Quiroga recorded assists for the Eagles. MEMORIAL SOCCER GAME The Bluffton and Van Buren High School boys soccer teams will be playing in a memorial game at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Steinmetz Field in Bluffton. This game will be held in honor of Bluffton Police Officer Dominic Francis, who was killed in the line of duty on March 31. Each team will be wearing a commemorative jersey for the game, and any proceeds from the game will go toward a permanent Fallen Officers Memorial at the Bluffton Police Department.
