Mogodore slips past L-B in final minutes

MOGADORE 33 L-B 28 ASHLAND – Mogodore's Zeke Cameron connected with Devin Graham on a 24-yard touchdown with 1:20 left in regulation, and the Wildcats fought off Liberty-Benton, 33-28 at the University of Ashland. That touchdown came 4 ½ minutes after the Eagles had taken the lead for the first time. Traling 26-21 with just under six minutes left, L-B quarterback Kam Garlock ran 16 yards to the end zone – his third touchdown of the game – and the Eagles led 28-27. But Mogodore rallied late to improve to 4-0. It was a brilliant game for Garlock, who ran 13 times for 124 yards, and completed 20 of 32 passes for 222. Garlock threw a 23-yard touchdown to Seth Elchert in the third. Elchert finished with five catches for 93 yards, while Lincoln Garlock hauled in 10 passes for 84 yards. L-B fell to 2-2. For the Wildcats, Mason Williams ran for three scores and 118 yards. MARYS – The St. Marys Roughriders rode roughshod over Ottawa-Glandorf on Friday, building a 21-0 lead and outscoring the Titans 20-0 in the third quarter in chalking up a 42-12 Western Buckeye League win. Cody Wallace completed 7-of-10 passes for 95 yards, including 18- and 31-strikes touchdown strikes to Brayden Sullivan that spotted St. Mary's a 14-0 lead. Wallace also rushed for a TD that made it 21-0 6-1/2 minutes into the second quarter. Sullivan dove over from a yard out and had a short TD run and Aiden Hinkle had two 5-yard touchdown bursts when St. Mary's blew the game open in the third quarter. Trailing 21-0, O-G roared back in the final minutes of the second quarter. Landon Morman (9-19, 175 yards passing) connected with Grant Schroeder on a 49-yarrd TD pass and Cy Rump scored a 1-yard dive to trim the deficit to 21-12, but that was as close as O-G would get. After a scoreless opening period, the Blue Devils (4-0, 1-0 N10) vaulted out to a 27-0 halftime lead.
