Municipal court to hold DUS clinic

Findlay Municipal Court will offer its fourth annual Driving Under Suspension day clinic on Oct. 6. The clinic is a workshop intended to assist those who have a suspended license to obtain a valid driver's license or driving privileges while pursuing full reinstatement. Municipal court personnel will work with individuals, outlining all issues and steps involved to successfully reinstate their license. Representatives from the public defender's office and the city prosecutor's office will be available to resolve cases, while the court's liaison to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles will be available to get clearance letters processed immediately. The clinic is open by appointment only from 9-11:30 a.m. and from 1:30-4 p.m. Oct. 6. Appointments may be scheduled by calling the Clerk of Courts office at 419-424-7141. The Ohio BMV implemented a driver's license reinstatement fee debt reduction and amnesty program in December 2020. Drivers who can demonstrate proof of indigence will be eligible for the program. Those interested should contact the court for a list of qualifying proof to be eligible for this program. In the past three years, the municipal court has assisted more than 250 people with their driver's license issues.
