Arcadia outlasts North Baltimore for first win

ARCADIA 15 N. BALTIMORE 12 ARCADIA – ARCADIA – Brycen Lucius scampered 14 yards to tie the game with 1:44 on the clock, and Nick Myers ran in the 2-point conversion as Arcadia rallied to beat North Baltimore 15-12 on Friday. Lamarion Tucker's 6-yard burst gave Arcadia a 7-0 first-quarter lead but the Redskins needed some late heroics to overcome a 12-7 deficit created by the arm of North Baltimore quarterback Braiden Solly. Solly lofted an 86-yard catch-and-run TD pass to Rowan Tackett in the third quarter and a 20-yard strike to Drew Meggitt in the fourth. Lucius had 58 yards on 11 carries and Tucker 60 yards on 12 attempts for Arcadia. Ryland Ernest led the Redskins defensively with two sacks and seven total tackles. Nathan Jones (1 sack) had five tackles and Lucius four. The outcome left both teams with 1-4 records. With North Baltimore playing an independent schedule and moving, along with Cory0-Rawson, to the Northwest Central Conference next year, the game did not count as a Blanchard Valley Conference game. Garlock, who had thrown five TD pass in a playoff game against Elmwood last fall, fired a 53-yard TD pass to Lincoln Garlock 11 seconds into the game, hit Seth Elchert with 41- and 53-yard strikes, and connected with Brayden Lemire (11 yards), Brayden Wages (27 yards) and Kaden Boutwell (14) as well. Cason Doolittle converted 10-of-10 PAT kicks, tying him with several other players for the 12th highest number of PAT kicks in a single game, according to OHSSA record. Liberty-Benton, which led 35-0 after the first quarter and 63-0 at the half, improved to 3-2 overall, and 1-1 in the BVC heading into next week's game with Van Buren. Fenstermaker rushed for 179 yards on 10 carries and had scoring bursts of 9, 2 and 70 yards. Newlove had 32 yards rushing along with 8- and 3-yard TD runs. Ayden Cavinee rushed for 67 yards and a TD. Arlington had 302 yards rushing and 406 yards total offense. Vanlue got on the board with a couple of big plays. JR Snook returned a kickoff 83 yards for a score, his second kickoff return TD of the season. Snook and Vanlue quarterback Jerome Kloepfer also hooked up on a 57-yard TD pass. FOOTBALL LEIPSIC 55 SPENCERVILLE 14 LEIPSIC- Quin Schroeder led Leipsic over Spencerville on a night that saw some long touchdown runs and passing scores. The first quarter was scoreless but in the last 3 quarters,Leipsic lit up the scoreboard. Schroeder rushed for 2 touchdowns and passed for another as the Vikings out gained Spencerville in total yards by a margin of 585-254. Estavan Carillo had another productive night scoring on an 18 yard pass from Schroeder and a 59 yard run. Leipsic's defense held Spencerville's rushing attack to just fifty-four yards on 25 carries. SANDUSKY 54 BUCYRUS 21 UPPER SANDUSKY — Upper Sandusky gained breathing room in the second quarter before rolling away in the third Friday to turn a close game into 54-21 rout of Northern 10 Athletic Conference foe Bucyrus.The Rams (2-3, 1-1 N10) ended the first quarter clinging to a 14-7 lead before outscoring the Redmen 20-7 for a 34-14 advantage.Touchdown runs of 20 yards by Kaden Holman, 3 yards by Levi Allen and 23 yards by Levi Lamb in the third period all but put the game out of reach for the Rams.The start was much more of a battle.Upper Sandusky sandwiched TD runs of 2 yards by Allen and 5 yards by Lamb in the first quarter around Bucyrus quarterback Malachi Bayless hitting Joe Rager with a 60-yard scoring pass.But Lamb sprinted in from 23 yards out with 7:28 left in the second quarter and Gavin Frey returned a punt 47 yards for a score a little more than a minute after that to help the Rams break away.Randy Banks bulled in from the 2 with 1:44 to go in the half for the Redmen (1-4, 0-2), but the Rams answered with Holman's 23-yard TD strike to Ethan Hill with 23 seconds left in the period.Bucyrus got its final score on Banks' 6-yard run in the fourth quarter. CAREY 48 BC 7 CAREY — Austin Niederkohr scored three touchdowns and Lance Rickle added a pair of TD runs and a scoring toss Friday as unbeaten Carey crushed Buckeye Central 48-7 in Northern 10 Athletic Conference play.Niederkohr opened the scoring with a 3-yard burst midway through the first quarter, caught an 11-yard TD throw from Rickle in the second period and, after muffing the second-half kickoff, scooped up the ball and rumble 75 yards to the end zone.Along with the TD throw, Rickle had scoring runs of 48 yards in the first period and 1 yard in the second for the Blue Devils (5-0, 2-0 N10).Jordan Mattimoe returned an interception 91 yards for a Carey touchdown in the second quarter, and Eli Steen powered in from 2 yards out in the third.The Bucks (3-2, 0-2) got on the board in the third quarter on Manny Mullins' 1-yard dive.
