Warehouse, U-Haul plans approved

Findlay City Planning Commission on Thursday approved plans for an 80,000-square-foot warehouse on Stanford Parkway. PaperTech, at nearby 115 Bentley Court, is planning to hire 20 to 50 additional employees with the warehouse, Plant Manager Adam Breeden said. The maker of paperboard packaging products for the food and consumer products industries plans to start construction next spring. It currently has about 160 employees. PaperTech has reported that demand for its products is strong. The products are made of 90% or more renewable sustainable materials. The company said that it is well-positioned to benefit from the accelerating shift away from single-use plastics. Separately, the planning commission approved plans for construction of a 96,759-square-foot storage building, a 9,268-square-foot storage building and several 7,000-square-foot mini-storage buildings at 325 Emma St. A new U-Haul facility is planned to open in fall 2023 at the site, just west of Interstate 75, north of Sandusky Street and south of Main Cross Street. It formerly was the site of a landscaping company. The company plans to hire 20 to 30 workers, said Cory Hall, president of U-Haul, Toledo.
