Former Oiler drafted by XFL team

Former University of Findlay player Christian Olmstead was selected in the ninth round of the XFL Draft by the St. Louis Battlehawks. Olmstead, a two-time Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) team selectee, was a member of Findlay's first-ever playoff team in 2017, and plays offensive lineman. Olmstead most recently suited up for the Montreal Alouettes, a team in the Canadian Football League. He has also played for the TSL Linemen, a team in The Spring League, a former professional football league in the United States, where the Linemen won the league championship in 2021. The XFL is set to begin this February Two UF volleyball players earn all-region honors University of Findlay sophomore Journey Blevins and freshman Alana Pohlman have been selected to All-Region teams for the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). Blevins was selected to the first-team, while Pohlman earned second-team honors. For Blevins, this selection is an addition to an already impressive resume. She was recently named the G-MAC Player of the Year, and ranks fourth in the country for total kills (484) and fifth in the country in kills per set, with 4.61. She was also a first-team all-region selection last year for the Oilers as well. Pohlman has notched 287 kills and 79 blocks on her way to second-team honors in her first season for the Oilers. Blevins moves forward to the All-American ballot, which will be announced on Nov. 29.
