O-G girls use strong fourth to edge Fairview

O-GLANDORF 59 FAIRVIEW 58 SHERWOOD – Ottawa-Glandorf outscored Fairview 21-16 in the fourth quarter in edging the Apaches 59-58 on Saturday. Kaelyn Grothause led a balanced O-G offense with 18 points. Kaitlyn Kimmet and Maggie Verhoff added nine points each and Karsyn Erford, Katie Kaufman and Lily Haselman all had six. The Titans overcame 26 turnovers and a chilly 5-for-11 effort from the line to improve to 3-0. Fairview's Allison Rhodes led all scorers with 23 points. Sami Scoles led Bluffton with 15 points. Ayla Grandey added 12 points for the Pirates, who suffered their first loss in three games. REBOUNDS: Arcadia 15; Van Buren 18 (Busey 6) TURNOVERS: Arcadia 23; Van Buren 8 JUNIOR VARSITY:Arcadia, 15-6 SWIMMING COLUMBUS – Findlay High's Claire Kemmere posted top-20 placings in two individual events and two relays on Saturday when the FHS swim teams competed in the 2022 Ned Reeb Invitational at the McCorkle Aquatic Center on the Ohio State campus. A sophomore freestyler, Kemmere placed 15th in the 100-yard free (56.96) and 20th in the 200 free (2:03.04). She also swam a leg on two freestyle relays, that placed 17th in the 400 (4:00.80) and 18th in the 200 (1:49.39). In Findlay's season opener those relays included Delaney Spradlin and Ava Weissling, as well as Taylor Hudson in the 200 free relay lineup and Jillian Nicholson in the 400.
