Toledo man arrested In Findlay for Toledo homicide

A man wanted for vehicular homicide was arrested after he was found hiding in a Findlay home. Ruben Parraz, 56, of Toledo, was wanted by the Lucas County Sheriff's Office for two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, after a Dec. 2022 accident that killed a 20-year-old woman and injured four others. Toledo police reported Parraz was driving a silver 2006 Pontiac G6 west on Miami Street around 11 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9, 2022. Parraz made a left turn onto the I-75 ramp heading north and into the path of an oncoming vehicle. The vehicle, a black 2008 Ford Taurus occupied by Quantrell Thomas, 27, Harley Conley, 20, and a 1-year-old boy, hit the passenger front wheel area of the Pontiac, according to the Toledo police report. Conley, the front-seat passenger, was transported to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries on Dec. 10. Thomas and the infant were treated on scene for minor injuries. Parraz was treated for minor injuries at the scene, but was later transported to the hospital for further medical attention. His passengers — Macellina Ruiz, 38, and Victoria Parraz, 54 — were also taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The report states police suspected alcohol as a contributing factor to the accident and Parraz was blood-tested for both drugs and alcohol. Parraz was indicted in Lucas County earlier this month for Conley's death. The investigation was turned over to the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force this week. The task force was able to narrow down Parraz's hiding spot to a home in Findlay, according to a press release made by the task force. The task force and the Findlay Police Department arrested Parraz without incident and he is currently held in the Hancock County Justice Center, until he can be extradited back to Toledo.
