FHS boys firs Knight RelaysMother Nature forced a one-day delay in proceedings, but that made no difference to the Findlay High boys track team at the Knight Relays at Toledo St. Francis De Sales.The relays were originally scheduled for Friday, but rain pushed it back to Saturday.The Trojans scored 102 points, topping St. Francis (92 points) and St. John's Jesuit (87).Zach Doepker led the Trojans by clearing 6-1 in the high jump. Doepker teamed wit Sam Ernst, who cleared 5-10) to win the high jump relay.In the long jump relay, Doepker (20-2 ¾) and Avion Miles (21-4 ¾) combined to give FHS another victory.Miles had the best distance overall in the long jump. DICK SCHULTZ INVITE BASCOM – Hopewell-Loudon's Evan Kreais won two events and was second in another on Saturday in leading the Chieftains to a second-place finish in the boys portion of the 2023 Dick Schultz Invitational at Hopewell-Loudon. Kreais won the high jump (6-2) and the triple jump (39-8½), was runner-up in the 110 high hurdles (16.43) and added a third in the long jump (18-9¾). Hopewell-Loudon got second-place efforts from Will Nutter in the shot (40-5), Erik Hossler in the discus (120-7) and its 4-x-1,600 relay team (22:26.56) in scoring 144 points and finishing just ahead of Gibsonburg (142½) but behind Delta (167½) in the team standings. Hopewell-Loudon's girls were third (132 points) behind Delta (160) and Bucyrus (151) in the seven-school meet. Alivia Roerdink was first in the 400 (1:02.60) and 800 (2:37.26) and Anna Daniel won the discus (104-7) and was second in the shot (31-3).The Chieftains won the 4-x-1,600 relay (26:31.56) and got runner-up placings from Kata Wyman in the pole vault (7-6), Delana Wright in the triple jump (30-2) and its 3,200 relay team ((11:16.58).
