Glaser allows no hits as McComb bumps Ada

MCCOMB 10 ADA 0 MCCOMB– McComb started Thursday's postseason game with back-to-back four-run innings, capturing momentum early and defeating Ada 10-0 in a sectional final. The Panthers also brought home in one run each in the third and the fifth. Panthers pitcher Camden Glaser threw a five-inning no-hitter, striking out 11 batters in the process. Glaser also had a triple, a double, a single, and three RBIs. Thane Steinbrook finished with a double, two singles and four RBIs. Grant Dishong had two singles and two RBIs, while Mason Holman had an RBI-double. Daniel Rader singled twice. The Panthers will play Pandora-Gilboa on Wednesday at 5 p.m. in Findlay. NORTHERN 5 DOLA– Pandora-Gilboa drove in nine runs in the second inning to take a commanding lead in defeating Hardin Northern 15-5 in a sectional final. The Rockets had five more runs in the top of the fourth, and one more in the fifth to put things away. Isaac Stall led the Rockets with two doubles, two singles and five RBIs. Colin Harris hit three singles and drove in two runs, while Zach Neuenschwander had a double, two singles and two RBIs. Both Jake Maag and Brock Stall ended with a single and two RBIs, and Camden Teman had an RBI-single. Hardin Northern's Xander Wilson had an RBI double. Martin Jones secured the victory on the mound for Arlington, allowing just two hits through seven innings. Wesley Hartman had an RBI single, while Justin Rausch scored two runs. Freshman Blayne Colman hit two singles to lead the Redskins. Owen Rader had an RBI single. The Red Devils will advance and play Columbus Grove Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Findlay. COL. GROVE 15 USV 0 COLUMBUS GROVE– Shep Halker came to play Thursday night. In a sectional final contest against Upper Scioto Valley, Halker threw a seven-strikeout no-hitter to lead Columbus Grove to a 15-0 victory. Columbus Grove notched its 20th win on Thursday, and its first 20-win season since 2013. This is also the Bulldogs' first sectional title since 2015. Halker and the Bulldogs will advance to a district final appearance Wednesday in Findlay, as they take on the Arlington Red Devils at 2 p.m. LEIPSIC 13 P. HENRY 11 HAMLER– Leipsic scored seven runs in the top of the seventh inning, then held on as it out-slugged Patrick Henry in a Division IV sectional final, 13-11. Jeremy Tavarez homered and drove in three runs for the Vikings, who advance to play Ayersville next Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Hamler. Ethan Zeisloft added a solo home run for Leipsic. CLAY 6 FINDLAY 5 OREGON – Findlay scored two runs in the first inning, but Clay came back, and used a four-run fourth inning on its way to downing the Trojans, 6-5. Luke Weihrach had an RBI double in the first, and later in the inning, Austin Sertell plated a run with a single. Weihrauch and Tucker Oliver each scored two runs for the Trojans. Weihrauch also had a single and two doubles, with Oliver finishing with two singles. Ben Best finished with two singles and a sacrifice fly, while Javonte Hill connected on two doubles. Findlay had 10 hits, while Clay registered eight. Sertell, Oliver and Hill all pitched for FHS, They combined to allow five earned runs on eight hits. They struck out three and walked two. The game was much closer than when the teams met April 12, when Clay won, 16-0. Findlay fell to 10-12, 4-8 in the Toledo Area Athletic Conference.
