110th Ada picnic to feature tractor pull, horses

ADA — The 110th Farmers & Merchants Picnic will be held Saturday at War Memorial Park, Ada. Activities begin at 8 a.m. with an Ohio Western Horse Association Show featuring contest, halter and performance classes. A parade starts at 9:30 a.m. on West Lincoln Street and proceeds to the park. The flag raising and welcome are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at the main stage. Registration for the second annual truck and semi show begins at 9 a.m., with competition from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A pedal tractor pull for kids will be held at the main stage at 11 a.m., while registration for a corn hole tournament begins at noon with tossing at 1 p.m. The cost is $25 per team. Gates open at 2 p.m. for the F&M Picnic pull. The Ada Historical Society is hosting a pie eating contest at 2 p.m. There will be five contestants with representatives from several village departments competing. Entertainment throughout the day will include the Ada Cheerleaders, merchants booths, arts and crafts, bingo, ring toss and a dunk tank. The park swimming pool will be open, weather permitting. Food will be available. There will be hourly door prizes awarded, and a raffle drawing beginning at 5 p.m.
