Altrusa Club awards scholarships

Altrusa International of Findlay has awarded four scholarships and installed new officers for next year. A total of $5,000 in scholarships were awarded. Two students each received a $2,000 scholarship including Kristen Scherger, a junior at Otterbein University; and Brayden Beucler, a junior at Bowling Green State University. Scholarships in the amount of $500 were awarded to Barb Waller, a student at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas; and Cheyenne Welch, a student at Ohio State University, Lima. The 2023-24 officers were installed. Terry Clairmont will serve as president. Other officers include Deb Wickerham, vice president; Gwen Pahl, treasurer; and Fran Williams, secretary. Heather Iliff, Nancy Beers and Sue Nichols are new board members. Altrusa is an international nonprofit organization undertaking a variety of literacy, service, fundraising and international projects annually. New members are welcome to attend meetings on the first Monday of every month at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church.
