P. HENRY 40 COL. GROVE 28 HAMLER– A pair of 131-yard games saw Patrick Henry defeat Columbus Grove 4-28. Houston Miranda had 131 rushing yards for the Patriots, with 23 carries and two rushing touchdowns. Landon Johnson had 131 yards through the air, on just six receptions. Quarterback Nash Meyer threw for a whopping 373 yards in the victory, and connected on three touchdown passes. Lincoln Creager had six receptions for 117 yards, while Thomas Smith ended with 63 receiving yards. Landon Best completed 13 of his 18 passes, to lead the Bulldogs with 160 yards and two touchdown throws. Trent Barraza had 73 receiving yards, Zach Reynolds ended with 62, and Zane Stechschulte recorded 48. On the ground, Josh Gannon finished with 33 yards, while Best ran for 28. Senior Carter Curtis ended with 97 yards on 14 carries, and 33 yards through the air. Xander Wilson finished with 49 rushing and 32 receiving yards. Cory-Rawson's Tremell Foster threw for 141 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 80 yards in the loss. Blake Boehm had two receptions: both touchdowns, for a total of 104 yards. Hunter Niese had a 75-yard touchdown run, his only carry of the game. The Polar Bears have moved to 2-1 and will host powerhouse Waynesfield-Goshen next week. Elmwood's Brennan Hiser finished with 243 rushing yards on 37 carries. Andrew Traxler had 68 yards on 17 carries. Brady Maraches had 78 receiving yards, with four receptions. Elmwood, now 1-2, will have another BVC contest waiting for them next week, as they travel to Arlington. Riverdale suffered their first loss of 2023, and will travel to Vanlue on Friday.
