Paradiso talks regional facility, Seneca EMS

TIFFIN --- At the Seneca County Commissioners meeting Thursday morning, Commissioner Anthony Paradiso provided a few updates of note. Earlier this week, Paradiso attended a regional jail meeting with Seneca County Sheriff Fred Stevens and Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Seneca, Sandusky, Ottawa and Wyandot Counties Executive Director Mircea Handru. The meeting included representatives of Sandusky and Ottawa counties, the partners for the idea of a regional mental health jail. He explained that each county has contributed $50,000 a piece to dig deep into the need for such a facility. Paradiso and Stevens then traveled to the Public Safety Building at the Seneca County Fairgrounds. He announced that Seneca County EMS will be joining the local tactical team. The commissioners also reflected on the passing of former Seneca County Commissioner Kenneth "Kenny" Estep. "Kenny was a boots-on-the-ground person," Frankart said. "We need more county people like him." Authorizing an amendment to the lease agreement between the Seneca County Board of Commissioners and Barnes-Deinzer Seneca County Museum Foundation, Inc. Authorizing the Seneca County Commissioners to enter into an agreement with the Ohio Department of Aging on behalf of the Seneca County Commission on Aging for the Healthy Aging Grant. Amending the designation of the Emergency Planning Committee for Seneca County. Authorizing the Seneca County Commissioners to sign satisfaction of mortgage for Clari McCrory for the satisfaction of her loan with the Seneca County Commissioners for work done through the Community Housing Improvement Program fiscal year 2007. Resolving the balances of Government Insured Deposit Program #6179 formerly Star Plus and Fifth Third Bank #3860 for the Seneca County Treasurer's Office. Authorizing the Seneca County Commissioners to enter an amended and restated cooperative economic development agreement with the city of Fostoria and the Board of Trustees of Jackson Twp. Authorizing the Seneca County Commissioners to enter into a second addendum to agreement regarding sanitary sewer and water with the city of Fostoria. Rescinding journal 81 pg. 300 of Seneca County Regional Planning Commission for sewer billing services and rescinding the previous entry. The next commissioners meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2 at the commissioners' office, 111 Madison St., Tiffin.
