Auditions for Finding Nemo Jr. to be held

The Marathon Center for the Performing Arts will hold auditions for Youtheatre's March 2024 production of Finding Nemo Jr. The auditions for the on-stage cast will begin at 6 p.m. Jan. 15 and 16 at the MCPA, with check-in beginning at 5:30 p.m. Students only need to come for one of either days of auditions and must be prepared for movement. Auditions are for all students in grades 3-5 with 40 on-stage positions available. Extra positions for technical crew are also available and can be registered for at MCPA.org/Nemo From the MCPA's description of the play: Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish, lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. With the help of lovable characters such as optimistic Dory, laid-back sea turtle Crush, and the supportive Tank Gang, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey to find each other and themselves. Youtheatre's production of Finding Nemo Jr. will be directed by Samantha Henry. The directing team includes Erica Bickhart as music director and Jordan Gottschalk as choreographer. Performances are slated for March 8 and 9 at Marathon Center for the Performing Arts.
