Hornets unable to hang on against Lancers

RAWSON – Cory-Rawson was able to rally back from one rough quarter against Lincolnview. But another bad stretch, this one in the third quarter, did the Hornets in in a 46-35 loss in a Division IV postseason opener. Lincolnview led C-R 8-3 at the first stop, but the Hornets dominated the second quarter, holding the Lancers without a field goal and going on a 14-3 run to go up 17-11 at the break. But Lincolnview took over from there, outscoring the Hornets 17-2 in the third quarter and never looking back. The Lancers were paced by Kreston Tow and Cal Evans, who each scored 10 points. Lincolnview will advance to play top-seeded Delphos St. John's at 7 p.m. Friday in Delphos. For Cory-Rawson, Blake Boehm and Austin Inbody each recorded 10 points, while Carson Reese added eight.
