Findlay's Hill, Cordonnier; Fostoria's Machi Johnson, Ferguson rate all-Ohio

Four area players gained all-Ohio honors when the Division I and Division II lists were released Thursday. Findlay's Javonte Hill, a 6-foot-1 senior guard who averaged 18.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.8 steals a game, was named to the second team in Division I. Hill was named the Division I Northwest District Player of the Year last month. Also picking up Division I all-state honors was Findlay senior Will Cordonnier. The 6-6 forward averaged 15.6 points a game while leading the Trojans with 122 rebounds, 26 3-pointers and 39 blocked shots. He was named special mention. In Division II, Fostoria boys basketball player Machi Johnson had a terrific season filled with milestones. On Thursday, he received another accolade. Johnson, who averaged 22.7 points a game this season and ended his career with over 1,300 points and set the school's all-time scoring record was named a third-team all-Ohio selection. Johnson was named the all-NBC Player of the Year earlier this month. Johnson was not the only member of the Redmen to rate all state. Jordan Ferguson, who like Johnson reached the 1,000 point milestone Thursday, was named to the honorable mention list.
