McComb Lions Club recognizes Citizen of the Year

MCCOMB — The McComb Lions Club has awarded Joe Wasson with the McComb Citizen of the Year award for 2024. Wasson was presented with a plaque by club member Nadine Aller during the Lions' April meeting. Wasson is a graduate of McComb High School and has been active in revitalizing the Village of McComb through his help creating the McComb Community Partnership. He also headed up the group which obtained a Heart & Soul Grant for the village, and he is currently involved in securing grants for updating buildings in the downtown area. The club has been honoring individuals since 1974 who have contributed to Village of McComb and/or the McComb Public School System. The McComb Lions Club also received the Governor's, Service and Humanitarian Awards at the Ohio Lions District OH1 Convention held this past weekend. The awards are based on sponsored service projects, charitable donations and timely filing of all reports with Lions International. The Lion's Club has also announced member Susan Davis was elected district governor. Her term will start July 1.
