Heritage Ohio to host workshop on revitalization

TIFFIN — Heritage Ohio will host a financial tools and incentives workshop for downtown revitalization from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 20, at the Chandelier Community Events Center, 151 S. Washington St., in Tiffin. The workshop will provide information on the value of historic preservation and community development, how to utilize financial incentives through the Federal and State Historic Preservation Tax Credit Programs, an overview of funding opportunities for Certified Local Governments and an overview of the National Register of Historic Places rules and guidelines, a release from the organization states. Matt Wiederhold of Heritage Ohio will discuss an overview of community revitalization and the role of preservation and revitalization in community pride and quality of life. Speakers from SHPO will include Abby Marshall, Nathan Bevil and Sam DeCillis. Lisa Brownell from the Ohio Department of Development will speak about the Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credit program.
