Findlay Schools cuts transportation director

FINDLAY — Findlay City Schools Board of Education held a special meeting on Tuesday to approve items relating to employee contracts. During the meeting, the board adopted a resolution to end Director of Transportation Zachary Qutub's contract with the district. Qutub's contact will not be renewed as a result of the approval on Tuesday. The district is not planning to fill the vacancy, Director of Communications Kelly Cheney wrote in an email. Cheney said Superintendent Andy Hatton will make recommendations "for the Board to consider in terms of reduction-in-force in certain areas and additions in other areas, like Special Education Coordinator positions." A reduction-in-force is when an organization eliminates positions, according to the Society of Human Resources Management. "We are looking at shifting as many of our resources — in terms of personnel — as close to students as we can," she said. Separately, the board approved several employee resignations and appointments. The board approved contract renewals for 12 administrators, including Pam Hamlin, director of Millstream; Kyle Mansfield, Bigelow Hill Intermediate School principal; Michelle Snook, student attendance case manager; Stephanie Renn, director of student services; Julie Routson transportation coordinator; Lyndsey Stephenson, Wilson Vance Intermediate School principal; Jon Thomas, network administrator; Erin Clegg, dean of students; Cheri Reino, food service coordinator; Kayla Rieman, human resources coordinator; Kristal Tooley, Jefferson Primary School principal; and Jon Kelley, assistant director of operations.
