Findlay freshman attending national academic conference

FINDLAY — Tyler Kogan of Findlay will join students across the nation to take part in a unique academic and career-oriented development experience, the Junior National Young Leaders Conference at American University, Washington DC. Junior National Young Leaders Conference is one of the Envision by WorldStrides family of program that enable students to explore their interests and experience learning beyond the classroom. Kogan will be a freshman at Findlay High School this fall and was nominated by his 8th grade English teacher Meghan Gilley for his academic achievement and leadership ability. Kogan is an honor student, an active Boy Scout, competitive baseball player and was on the robotics team which qualified for the Ohio state competition. He is passionate about history, geography and New York Yankees baseball. Aspiring to be an architectural engineer, Kogan is looking forward to the hands-on leadership lessons throughout Washington D.C. that the Junior National Leaders Conference has to offer. He is both honored and humbled to be nominated. "I am excited for Tyler to meet, work, and collaborate with fellow high-aspiring students from other cities and schools," said Jan Sikorsky, vice president of education at Envision. "Junior National Young Leaders Conference is a wonderful opportunity for ambitious young students to explore their interests outside the classroom and discover how to innovate and think creatively through hands-on immersive learning. Our students are challenged with real-world simulations and problems, working together to develop unique solutions and projects to bring life to their studies and career interests," Sikorsky said.
