Findlay Garden Tour blooms next week

FINDLAY — The Findlay Garden Club will welcome four new blooms and one returning garden to their annual Findlay Garden Tour, happening on July 13 and 14. Gardens open to the public this year include: 202 E. Lima St., Findlay: Abby Anderson has lived in her home for 10 years. She tore out overgrown shrubs and started her garden from scratch. Anderson also propagates eucalyptus and sells bundles at the retail shop she owns in downtown Findlay with her mother called Roobarb Studios. 2237 Windsong Dr., Findlay: Tasha Anspach renovated her property's landscape to resemble a magical, whimsical and serene oasis. This is Anspach's first time on the garden tour. Her garden is child, dog and pollinator-friendly. 2575 County Road 220, Van Buren: Randy and Susan Benson have lived in their home for nearly 20 years. Their property, originally a horse pasture, featured just a couple of trees. The Bensons began planting Viburnum and designed their yard to accommodate dogs and children. 4140 West Ohio 224, Findlay: Che Brindle and Karen Damschroder have lived at their home for 14 years. Their garden features a variety of trees, including peach, apple and cherry. Other plants include blackberries, grapes, raspberries and hot peppers. There are also many native plants. 220 Defiance Ave., Findlay: Haydee and Dave Sadler's garden was last featured on the tour four years ago. The Sadlers' garden features a koi pond, flowers, evergreens and vegetables. A swimming pond is also located on the property. The 2024 Findlay Garden Tour will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 13 and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 14. Donation jars will be located at each garden to collect money to cover the expenses of our projects, including a Junior Garden Club, which is free for all kids.
