Fritz keys Findlay Legion sweep of Sidney

Findlay Legion's baseball team made a big rally in Sunday's first game, then carried that momentum into the second as it swept Sidney Legion 4-3 and 13-3.In the first game, Findlay Legion wasn't able to get anything going offensively through six innings, and trailed Sidney 3-0 going to the seventh inning.Caden Fritz changed that, smacking a three-run triple in the team's last at-bat and tying things at 3.Jarrett Haan followed by driving Fritz in, and Findlay walked off Sidney.Fritz also was the winning pitcher, throwing a complete seven innings, allowing five hits. Of the three runs he allowed, only one was earned.Fritz struck out five and walked three. Findlay's Gavin McClane, Trenton Smith,and Caine McDonald each singled and scored.In the second game, Fritz kept up his hot hitting, connecting on a homer, scoring two runs and driving in three.Also for Findlay, Taleb Al-Zakwani singled twice and scored, and Landen Stansberry had four hits, scored twice and registered four RBIs.Trevin Lieb singled, doubled and scored. McClane singled twice and drove in three runs. Caine McDonald (singles, 2 runs) threw five innings to pick up the win for Findlay, striking out eight while allowing six hits and picking up the win. He allowed three runs, one earned. (14 sub head) UF's Mulcahy undefeated LAHINCH, IRELAND – University of Findlay golfer Mary Kelly Mulcahy finished a spectacular weekend with another strong round at the Palmer Cup, helping the Team USA to victory.Mulcahy, a graduate of Lima Central Catholic who was named the NCAA Division II Player of the year this past season, went 4-0 at the event, and Team USA topped Team International, 32 1/2-27 ½ Sunday to win the Palmer Cup for the second consecutive year.Mulcahy, the first UF player to play in the Palmer Cup, recorded five birdies in Friday's competition against Ireland's and Team International player Kate Lanigan, 2-1.Mulcahy is the first non-Division I player to go undefeated at the event.The Palmer Cup uses a Ryder Cup-style format, and features top men's and women's college golfers in a matchup between American and International players. (14 sub head) Phantoms fall to Northern Kentucky ADA – CJ Tally threw three second half touchdown passes to rally the Northern Kentucky WolfPack to a 30-7 win over the Flag City Phantoms on Saturday in the Players Football Association 2A Midwest tournament at Ada's War Memorial Stadium. The Phantoms led 7-0 at the half on a Donovan Laraby TD pass to Shandon Morris.
