Former Cory-Rawson coach Inbody dies at 89

JENERA – Jerry Inbody, a long-time area coach who guided Cory-Rawson to Blanchard Valley Conference championships in both football and basketball, passed away on Saturday. He was 89.Inbody followed Jim "Spike" Berry as Cory-Rawson's football coach in 1991 and compiled a 50-50 record in 10 seasons as Hornets' head coach. His 1992 team won an outright BVC championship.Inbody was also C-R's basketball coach and won two league titles in that capacity, guiding the program to 9-0 BVC records in both the 1975-76 and 1978-79 seasons.Inbody was a three-time BVC Coach of the Year, and was Ohio's Class A Coach of the Year in basketball following the 1975-76 season.A graduate of Arlington High School and the University of Findlay, Inbody started his coaching career at The Plains in Athens, where his football team won a Southeast Ohio Athletic League championship and he was named SEOAL Coach of the Year in 1971.Inbody was inducted into the Hancock Sports Hall of Fame in 1995.
