Early voting dates set

FINDLAY — The voter registration deadline for the Nov. 5 general election is 9 p.m. Oct. 7. Early voting will begin on Oct. 8 for the general election, said Lori Miller, director of the Hancock County Board of Elections. Registered voters wanting to cast ballots early will have two choices: either voting absentee or voting in person at the elections board, 201 E. Lincoln St., Miller said. Those wanting to vote absentee must complete an absentee ballot application. An absentee ballot application may be obtained in a variety of ways: a copy may be viewed at the elections board's website at https://www.ohiosos.gov/globalassets/elections/forms/11-a_english.pdf and then printed out; you can contact the elections board, at 419-422-3245, to mail the application to you; or obtain an application from the drop box outside the entrance to the elections board. Many people already have received an application in the mail from the Ohio Secretary of State's office. Absentee ballots will be mailed out by the elections board beginning Oct. 8, she said. Early in-person voting at the elections board also will begin Oct. 8. To vote in person you need one of these types of photo identification: Ohio driver's license; State of Ohio ID card; Interim ID form issued by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles; a U.S. passport; a U.S. passport card; a U.S. military ID card; an Ohio National Guard ID card; or U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs ID card. An Ohio mobile ID, on a phone or watch, will not be accepted, Miller said. All photo IDs must have the following: an expiration date that has not passed; a photograph of the voter; the voter's name, which must substantially conform to the voter's name as it appears in the Poll List or in the Poll Book. Early in-person voting dates and times at the elections board are as follows: • Tuesday, Oct. 8 through Friday, Oct. 11, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. • Tuesday, Oct. 15 through Friday, Oct. 18, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. • Monday, Oct. 21 through Friday, Oct. 25, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. • Saturday, Oct. 26, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. • Sunday, Oct. 27, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. • Monday, Oct. 28, 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. • Tuesday, Oct. 29, 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. • Wednesday, Oct. 30 through Friday, Nov. 1, 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. • Saturday, Nov. 2, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. • Sunday, Nov. 3, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
