Buddelmeyer slams 19 kills, Findlay stops Toledo Central Catholic

FINDLAY 3TOL.C.C 0TOLEDO – Ava Buddelmeyer and Sadie Barnes combined for 30 kills on Monday when Findlay High's volleyball team rebounded from a set-one loss to beat Toledo Central Catholic 17-25, 25-23, 25-13, 25-7.Buddelmeyer had 19 kills, 12 digs and two aces. Barnes pounded 11 kills in helping the Trojans end a three-match skid and improve to 5-8 overall.Anika Helms and Delaney Harris set up the big hitters up front, with Helms chalking up 24 assists and Harris 13. Caroline Kiffmeyer served up six aces and led Findlay defensively with 20 digs.Findlay faces another huge matchup today when the Trojans travel to Perrysburg for a Northern Lakes League matchup against the No. 6-ranked Yellow Jackets.JUNIOR VARSITY: Findlay, 25-23, 25-9.FRESHMEN: Findlay, 25-14, 25-17. Josie Todd (4 aces) had a team-leading 33 assists as L-B, 8-3 overall and 3-0 in the league, ran its BVC winning streak to 72 straight matches.Olivia Secord had three kills and 14 digs and Aubree Higgins had three kills and three blocks for Vanlue (5-4, 0-3 BVC). CAREY 3NEW RIEGEL 0NEW RIEGEL – Carey needed a little overtime before finally getting past New Riegel 25-23, 25-16, 28-26 in Monday's nonleague volleyball match.Parker Vackert led Carey (8-3) with 15 kills and 15 digs. Payton Vackert was 14-of-15 serving and had a team-high 31 assists. Riley Stoops had seven kills and 11 digs, Gabby Summit had 13 digs and Abbi Seager had three kills and four blocks. C-RAWSON 3USV 0RAWSON – Morgan McVetta was 39-of-41 spiking with 12 kills and Katelyn Duffman was 100-of-104 setting with 28 assists as Cory-Rawson earned its first volleyball win on Monday, sweeping Upper Scioto Valley 25-23, 25-16, 25-16 in a Northwest Central Conference matchup.Duffman (13-15 serving) and McVetta (11-11) both had three aces for the Hornets, (1-9, 1-2 NWCC). Lexi Roth was 20-of-21 serving with two aces, while Brie May (28-32 spiking) had 10 kills and Natalie Waltz added eight.Hazel Dixon led the Cory-Rawson with 15 digs, Madi Krieger had 14 and Addi Bacon 12.JUNIOR VARSITY: Upper Scioto Valley 26-24, 25-21. ADA 3 ELMWOOD 0 BLOOMDALE – Brook Andreasen slammed 10 kills, and Jaylin St. Laurent dished out 26 assists while collecting 10 digs as Ada knocked off Elmwood, 26-24, 25-20, 25-22. Jenna Bassitt came up with 19 digs, while Kennedy Jones served three aces. Tess Griffith had seven kills, while Anna Conley added five. LEIPSIC 3 P-G 1 PANDORA – Leipsic came in to Monday's match with BVC/PCL foe Pandora-Gilboa undefeated, and ranked No. 2 in Division VII. The Vikings remained undefeated, though it wasn't easy. Danaysia Danzy smashed 22 kills and 17 digs while serving six aces, and Leipsic fought off the Rockets, 27-25, 25-21, 25-27, 25-20. Leipsic improved to 11-0, 4-0 in the BVC. Karmyn Brough and Morgan Apple – like Danzy – recorded double-doubles in Monday's win. Brough dished out 50 assists and had 11 digs, while Apple recorded 10 kills and 12 digs. Jazelle Perez hammered 12 kills and six blocks, while Jadyn Cupp came up with seven kills. Jaelynn Siefker added 26 digs and two aces for Leipsic. For Pandora-Gilboa, Peyton Diller handed out 50 assists while collecting 18 digs. Corrin Luginbill lined 18 kills, Nevaeha Alvarado added 17 and Laira Parkins 11. Ava Huffman came up with 31 digs for the Rockets, while Luci Hovest put up 16 and Miley Russell 10. McCOMB 3 ARCADIA 1 McCOMB – There was a lot to Like about McComb's four game win over Arcadia Monday. The Panthers Kacey Like downed 21 kills, 13 digs and served six aces as McComb overcame the Redskins, 25-15, 24-26, 25-10, 25-21. The Panthers improved to 6-4, 2-2 in the BVC. Peyton Stateler smashed 10 kills and three blocks for the Panthers, while Kelsey Jenkins registered five aces and 18 digs. Morgan Kern (4 aces) and Addie Krassow each slammed eight kills for McComb, while Shelby Hassan dished out 24 assists. Alexis Carter recorded 26 digs. For Arcadia, Kate Keefe recorded 13 digs and four kills, while Ivy Smith dished out 18 assists to go with 12 digs. Jade Johnson lined five kills to go with two aces and Alexis Theis registered seven digs. H. NORTHERN 3 RIVERDALE 1 MOUNT BLANCHARD – You might say Laney Thomas had an ace up her sleeve in Hardin Northern's four set win at Riverdale. Eight, actually. Thomas served eight aces in the Polar Bears 25-22, 25-18,17-25, 25-22 win over the Falcons. She also had 31 digs. Kendall Frank handed out 29 assists and recorded 13 digs, while Baylie Bacon had 11 kills and Addy Bacon added 10 for Hardin Northern. Catherine Overs added nine kills and Lexi Oakley recorded 12 digs. For Riverdale, Paige Courtad dished out 13 assists and served three aces, with teammate Regan Boutwell collecting 14 digs. Addie Farmer dished out seven assists and smashed three solo blocks, while Shayla Newfer had five kills, six digs and three solo blocks. Carly Karcher added six kills and two aces ARLINGTON 3 VAN BUREN 2 ARLINGTON – Alyssa Lunder had 13 kills and served six aces, and Arlington held on against Van Buren Monday night, 25-19, 25-22, 21-25, 26-24. 15-11. Gabby Schultz slammed 14 kills and had eight blocks for the Red Devils, while Mea Alexander collected 30 assists For Van Buren, Selma Brant delivered 30 kills to go with 16 digs, while Brooklyn Wilkin downed 18 kills. Bailey Lance came up with 37 digs, while Paige Ryan had 16 assist and five aces. Lilly Grine added 16 digs, and Lydia Ponn dished out 33 assists. JV: Van Buren 10-25, 25-16, 25-23.
