Lieb throws for 3 TDs as L-B blanks Royals

L-BENTON 45ELMWOOD 0FINDLAY – The Blanchard Valley Conference's leading passer Trevin Lieb threw for over 200 yards as Liberty-Benton shut out Elmwood 45-0 in Blanchard Valley Conference action on Friday.Lieb completed 12 of his 17 passes for 203 yards and four touchdowns and added a rushing TD. Zach Elchert finished with 132 total yards, accumulating 66 yards both on the ground and through the air, along with three total touchdowns. Seth Elchert added four catches for 81 yards and a touchdown. Brennan Hiser rushed for 63 yards to lead the Royals. The Eagles improved to 4-1 with the win, including a perfect 3-0 record in the BVC thus far. L-B takes on Arlington on the road on Friday in another conference matchup. It was once again Trenton Barraza leading CG on offense, carrying the ball just 15 times for 206 yards and two touchdowns, good enough for nearly 14 yards per carry.Brody McCluer had nine carries, 71 yards, and a touchdown. Trevon Baxter tallied four receptions for 58 yards and two scores.Still without quarterback Landon Best, the Bulldogs split time between Alex Meyer and Riley Sautter on Friday. Meyer threw three touchdowns with 41 total yards, while Sautter had 46 yards and a touchdown throw. The Bulldogs are now 5-0, and take their winning streak on the road as they face the Allen East Mustangs next Friday in conference play. ADA 35MCCOMB 20ADA– Ada's Levi Green accounted for three total touchdowns, as Ada picked up a 35-20 win against McComb.Green rushed for 246 yards and threw for 148 more for the Bulldogs. Kaine Fisher ran for 71 yards and 12 carries, while adding 68 yards on five catches. Kayleb Hickman had 57 yards through the air. Grady Schroeder ran for 117 yards and a touchdown for McComb, which fell to 3-2. He also threw two touchdown passes, one to Octavian Gonzales for 53 yards. Ada is 4-1, and travels to Arcadia next Friday starting at 7 p.m. McComb will host Van Buren. U. SANDUSKY 37WYNFORD 20UPPER SANDUSKY– Upper Sandusky's high-powered play on both sides led to a 37-20 win over Wynford on Friday. Quarterback Justin Heilman and receiver Kaleb Francis connected on two different TD passes for the Rams. Ethan Lewis recorded a 28-yard rushing score. Ezekiel Baldwin recovered a blocked field goal and returned it 64 yards for a score, while Kaden Vogel had a pick-six. Kobe Beidelschies converted a field goal as well. The Rams are now 2-3 and 1-1 in the Northern 10 Conference ahead of a road matchup with Seneca East (3-2, 2-0) on Friday. V. BUREN 48RIVERDALE 0VAN BUREN– Van Buren picked up its third win of the season, routing Riverdale 48-0 in a BVC contest. Grady Mason notched five total touchdowns to lead the Black Knights. Mason rushed for a score, threw for three, and returned a kickoff as well. Mason Thorla-Lopez, Will Rampe, and Alex Homan were all receivers of TD throws from Mason. Lucas Harrington ran in a score as well. The Black Knights moved to 3-2 and 2-1 in the BVC, while the Falcons dropped to 2-3 and 1-2. Next week, Van Buren travels to McComb while Riverdale hosts Leipsic. H. NORTHERN 38L. PERRY 15DOLA– Nolan Hopson once again starred as Hardin Northern beat Lima Perry 38-15 at home on a night when the school dedicated its new football field in honor of former head coach Pete Brunow.Hopson recorded four touchdowns, rushing for 214 yards and 36 carries. Xander Wilson completed five of his 10 throws for 104 yards, rushed 14 times for 116 yards, and threw touchdown passes to Dylan Bacon and Mason Stewart.The Polar Bears, winners of four straight, now stand at 4-1 and travel to Ridgedale next Friday at 7 p.m. P. HENRY 39BRYAN 0BRYAN – Patrick Henry coach Bill Inselmann became the winningest coach in NWOAL history on Friday, picking up his 177th win as the Patriots cruised to a 39-0 shutout of Bryan.Quarterback Lincoln Creager completed four of his nine pass attempts for 119 yards, rushed for 109 yards on nine carries, and had one touchdown in both categories for the Patriots. Jaiden Rutter had six carries for 85 yards and a score, while Lane Jackson had two receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown. Patrick Henry's defense held Bryan to just 63 yards of total offense. MARYS– Despite Ottawa-Glandorf nearly doubling the yardage of St. Marys, the Roughriders held on to secure a 21-16 Western Buckeye League win.Peyton Kuhlman had both a passing and a rushing touchdown for O-G. Ethan Metzger was on the receiving end of Kuhlman's passing score, and Jesse Ruhe scored a field goal. The Titans, who now sit at 2-3 and 2-2 in WBL play, will travel to Lima Bath on Friday to take on the Wildcats. BLUFFTON 55SPENCERVILLE 7BLUFFTON– Bluffton dominated Spencerville on Friday, coming away with a 55-7 victory.The Pirates, now 5-0 to start 2024, notched their second straight 5-0 start to the year. OTSEGO 34FOSTORIA 7TONTOGANY– Otsego easily defeated Fostoria 34-7 on Friday in Northern Buckeye Conference. After going up 6-0 after the first quarter, the Knights exploded for 21 points in the second. Lance Miller ran in the Redmen's only score of the evening. Fostoria (1-4, 0-2) will host the Oak Harbor Rockets on Friday. ELGIN 29C-RAWSON 3RAWSON– Elgin handed Cory-Rawson its fourth loss in a 29-3 bruising on Friday.The Hornets took an early 3-0 lead in the first quarter, but could not add to their early momentum following Carson Reese's 41-yard field goal. Cory-Rawson (1-4, 0-4 NWC) travels to Waynesfield-Goshen on Friday for another NWC contest. W-GOSHEN 49N. BALTIMORE 14NORTH BALTIMORE– Despite jumping out to a 6-0 lead early on, North Baltimore lost to Waynesfield-Goshen 49-14 on Friday night. The Tigers, now 2-3 and 1-3 in the Northwest Central Conference, will travel to Lima Perry for another NWCC meeting with the Commodores on Friday. NORTHWOOD 67VANLUE 8NORTHWOOD– Northwood made easy work of Vanlue on Friday, winning 67-8.The Wildcats now sit at 0-5, and take on the 0-4 North Central Eagles at home on Friday.
