Police release shooting video

FINDLAY — Findlay police on Thursday released body camera video of an Oct. 28 deadly interaction between officers and a 17-year-old boy, 17 days after the boy was killed. Kalvin Darapheth At a news conference, police also released a recording of the 911 call that led to the shooting, in which a woman reports seeing three juveniles drinking alcohol at Bernard Park. Kalvin Darapheth's death was ruled a homicide, according to the Lucas County coroner's office. He was hit multiple times, according to the coroner, and suffered a gunshot wound to the head. The body camera video shows Kalvin running from officers and firing two shots. Eight shots were fired back by the pursuing officer, according to the video. Kalvin died later at a Toledo hospital from his injuries. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is conducting the investigation of the incident, which Chief James Mathias said likely will take some time to complete.
